About

My work focuses primarily on concepts surrounding the darker side of the human subconscious, which I extrapolate into dreamlike images.  These concepts include Carl Jung’s psychological theory of the shadow archetype and collective unconscious, Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson’s poetry, and photographers such as Francesca Woodman and Arno Minkkinen.  I make staged night photographs, self-portraits, and prints meant to expose the inner self to the outer world.  Many people today prefer not to think about topics such as mental illness, death, and sadness, but those are the reservoirs my work most often draws from.

Open Hourglass Press is my outlet for prints and books, which often combine photographs, intaglio, and text into one object.  It also houses my poetry and altered books.
